In 1986, Patek replaced the mythical Ref. 2499 perpetual calendar chronograph with the new Ref. 3970 (produced until 2004), powered by the caliber CH27-70Q, based on a modified Lemania 2310.
This manual-winding 36mm "Grand complication" yellow gold Ref. 3970EJ, E for « étanche » (waterproof in French) is dating from 1999 and is offered with its amazing full set. Comes with a brown alligator strap and its Patek yellow gold iconic folding buckle.
